Inade has always attracted me with their "true" dark ambient sound – in the most
"traditional" definition of the genre. I have always admired their ability to
create very dense, layered sound that spans the atmospheres ranging between
ancient tribal intensity and futuristic soundscapes, always staying true to
inherent dark nature of their sound. This album is no exception, and by far it
seems to take everything Inade has been for me even further. I truly enjoy newly
acquired rhythmic nature of many tracks. Rhythm not in the sense of repetitive
structure, but sparse heavy drops of percussion, explosions, crackling
collapsing noises. Inade has always been known for its long, drawn-out
compositions that fully immerse you in their atmosphere. I remember first
getting into their sound a few years back, and how it bothered me initially. Now
I see it as a required, integral part of the band's style, creating a continuous
flow of overlapping frequencies, colossal sonic structures. Deep rumbling
basslines, saturated, incessant waves of drony ambient seem almost overwhelming
at times, especially contrasted with moments of quiet, transparent tranquility –
uneasy vibrating silence, distant chants, liquid noises. This contrast of
profound depths and simple earthly beauty, this swelling, layered world of
breathing, shifting masses is Inade. This is the music that demands appropriate
sound system, and is best when it is heard live. I would definitely pick this

consistent world of minimal electroacoustic soundscapes, 'trying to reach an
ideal of absolute concrète music'. To date, his catalog comprises more than 130

The Netherlands, Switzerland, France, UK, Italy, Poland, Austria, Norway,
Greece, Canada, USA, Puerto Rico, Japan and Australia. He has toured extensively
throughout Western and Eastern Europe, North, Central and South America, Japan
and Australia doing acousmatic performances, and he has received commissions
from a number of reknown institutions and organizations, such as the Dutch and
Spanish National Radios, the Goethe Institut, V2 Organization (Rotterdam), Yale
University Theater (New Haven), the Ralph Lemon Company (New York), the
Zeitkratzer Ensemble (Berlin), Sound Traffic Control (san Francisco), Creative
Time (New York) and Quartier Ephemere (Montreal). Through what he once called as
'the exploration of the universe of broad-band noise from the real world', his
music arises from the processing of environmental recordings. In deep contrast
to the classical soundscape movement (and even despite his paradoxical past
involment with related organizations as the Environmental Tape Exchange, the
World Forum for Acoustic Ecology and the Nature Sounds Society), his vast
activity doing field recordings all over the world (nearly 40 countries in five
continents) never pursued a documentary or representational goal, but a
dramatically opposite object sonore perspective. And in this sense, the

From the unusual Norwegian label OHM, this three artist project seems to take
odd and normal tiny sounds, letting each artist create their own tracks,
interpretations, soundscapes and constructions of it. The Hegre material ranges
from gritty ambient, rumbling noises, absorbing. The Lasse Marhaug tracks go
from extreme noise for a few moments to cycing rumbles and then works of quiet,
static glitches and clicks and shudders. The Sten work seems to span an even
larger gamut, encompassing all these but going farther. The arrangements are so

It seems that Palace of Worms have managed
to find a few extra copies of this excellent release for us, so we're now able
to offer you Bleeding Like Mine's fine debut "In the Eyes of Lovelost". The
project revolves around Curt Emmer, hereby assisted by a few other musicians and
performers throughtout the album in somewhat random manner. Curt has based his
approach on ethereal string melodies, seductive percussion/beats, heavenly
male/female vocals and keyboard/piano melodies that drift in and out of the
music in rather ominous fashion. This combination comes to result in a quite
peculiar form of ambiance, which will certainly appeal to those who fancy the
likes of Black Tape for a Blue Girl. Although wrapped in an ethereal cloak,
Bleeding Like Mine's music can also be deeply reflective and isolationist, even
if somewhat romantic and sensual. There is a thick mysterious aura present on
the album, which although not dark enough to dispell the work's soothing
effects, is nonetheless intriguing enough to offer more than mere background
listening. The songs' monotonous structures make them sound like a moment frozen
in time, a blurred picture of strange beauty that holds mournful chants trapped
inside it.. A blissful and moving, yet somber, piece of work! Essential.

O Quam Tristiis… is a new French band whose debut, "Funérailles des
Petits Enfants", provides an eclectic mix between choral chants of deeply
religious/ecclesiastical content and ethnic/medieval music with an electronic

into Gothic Rock territory with the use of discreet guitars and rather dancy

indisputably, one of the most interesting compilation projects ever to emerge
ever to emerge on the Darkwave scene. All the artists herein included have
created a track to represent one of the 22 trumps of the Major Arcana especially
for this double-CD endeavour, which means that you won't find most of the tracks
anywhere else. The Soil Bleeds Black, Arcana, Autumn Tears or Chants for the
Fallen (a discreet yet promising Portuguese project and the only Portuguese
contribution to this disc) form the Neoclassical/Medieval-inspired part of the
compilation, whereas Bleeding Like Mine, Stay Frightened, In Winter Bleeding or
Vehemence Realized, curiously all of which representatives of Palace of Worms,
add a more ethereal Darkwave flavour to things. Brooding orchestrals and dark
electronics are offered by Ah Cama-Sotz and Dream Into Dust, and the likes of
4th Sign of the Apocalypse, Loretta's Doll and Athanor provide strange
incursions into esoteric Ambient territory, whereas on the other hand,
Conscientia Peccati, alongside Ontario Blue, Arcanta, Endvra, Nothvs Filivs
Mortis, Psychonaut or Pilori lend a somewhat ritualistic aura to the
compilation, which, as you can imagine, can be a quite varied and captivating
